Getting to Zero

A Milestone Achievement

In 2015, the 正澳门六合彩官网 incorporated a plan to save every healthy, adoptable pet in our care 鈥 Getting to Zero. The organization reached its goal of Getting to Zero euthanasia of healthy adoptable animals in 2017, 3 years ahead of schedule!

正澳门六合彩官网 continues to maintain zero euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets today.  If you would like to help us in promoting and maintaining our efforts, please consider donating, volunteering, fostering, or adopting from the 正澳门六合彩官网.

community education, legislation & support

Community Education, Legislation & Support provides knowledge and sets the standards for all of the stakeholders to prevent animals from being abandoned.

The 正澳门六合彩官网 has received resolutions of support from our partner cities who believe together we can save every adoptable pet in our care. They have committed to implementing city ordinances to help residents become more responsible pet owners such as mandatory microchipping to reunite lost pets with their owners and diverting owned pets from the shelter.

With the introduction of our Humane Heroes youth education programs in 2020, our Community Outreach team has spent countless hours at local schools, on our shelter campus, working to affect change at the youth level to instill the importance of responsible pet ownership.

COLLABORATION WITH SHELTER PARTNERS

Together, the Inland Valley Humane & S.P.C.A. along with our coalition of shelter partners continue to work together to ensure we are 鈥淕etting to Zero,鈥 a movement to eliminate the need for unnecessary euthanasia of homeless pets in our community. 正澳门六合彩官网 has committed to working together to transfer homeless pets between non-profit organizations and other shelters that do not have enough healthy, adoptable pets to find solutions for each individual animal.

ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE VETERINARY CARE

The 正澳门六合彩官网 Board of Directors is strongly committed to saving all healthy, adoptable animals in our community.  The opening of the Alex and Elisabeth Lewyt Medical Center is 正澳门六合彩官网鈥檚 commitment to the community to be a resource for affordable veterinary care. Access to affordable veterinary care is a barrier to overcome for many community members to enjoy pet ownership and to ensure that no animal has to lose its life because of an owner鈥檚 financial disadvantage. Access to spay/neuter services also prevents unplanned litters, overcrowding in shelters, and reduced-cost pet licensing.
